YOGA

My interest in esoteric teachings began when I started reading about philosophy, morality, and ethics as a young adult. It was at that time I stumbled upon Hatha Yoga and began to practice at home. In my early 20’s I became a dedicated student of Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, which I have practiced ongoing since 2006. I completed my RYT 250 training at Moksana Yoga Centre in Victoria, Canada in 2010 and have taught in Melbourne since my move to Australia in 2011. Coupled with decades of training and studentship, I have taught hundreds of students, making me one of Melbourne’s trusted sources for yoga as a movement practice, philosophy and spiritual teaching.

I have completed advanced trainings with internationally renowned teachers Gregor Maehle and Monica Gaucci, who have both taught extensively for decades and written widely-used textbooks about yogic philosophy. My teaching style aim to offer ways of achieving balanced strength and mobility to improve performance, thus leading to better physical and mental health, and is highly influenced by the teachings of Krishnamacharya through the lineage of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. I practise the lineage of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and teach a variety of styles including Vinyasa, Yin and Yoga Nidra.

Workshops & Courses

Feb 25th 2023 ~ Yoga Nidra & Yin Immersion ~ Hosted at Light Space Yoga in Ivanhoe 12:30 - 2:30pm Saturday

Yoga Nidra is one of the deepest of all yogic states, shifting awareness through the layers of one's conscious mind into the subtler subconscious through imagery and meditation techniques. Yoga Nidra is a state of conscious deep sleep where we may experience a greater sense of stillness and peace. In meditation, we remain in the waking state of consciousness allowing thoughts, emotions, sensations, and images to come and go. In Yoga Nidra we leave the waking state of the mind and move into subtler sleep states yet remain awake.

Yoga Nidra has been used to benefit anxiety, depression and sleep disorders. In its more traditional use by yogis, it is an aid to purify the samskaras, the deep impressions that remain from our past.

  • In this workshop, we will begin with a grounding and opening yin practice, followed by Yoga Nidra

  • It is recommended that you bring warm clothing and an eye pillow or scarf to cover the eyes. You may also like to bring a small cushion for additional comfort
